If you are not yet registered to vote, but would like to participate in the March 1 Republican and Democratic primaries, you have until Feb. 1 to do so.

Voter registration can be completed online at VoteTexas.gov or at a county election office.

Texans who are unsure if they are registered may check their status on the VoteTexas.gov website as well.

If you’ve moved since the last election, officials warn it’s important to update address information at a local election office to ensure you’re voting in the correct precinct.

Since the March 1 primary election is observed and utilized by both the Republican and Democratic parties, voters will have to select one party before voting.

Early voting for the primaries begins Feb. 16 and continues through Feb. 26.

Additional information about voter registration, what’s on the ballot and accepted forms of photo identification can be found at sos.state.tx.us.
