Teachers and ag literacy volunteers can now apply for the American Farm Bureau Federation for Agriculture’s White-Reinhardt Scholarships.

The scholarship provides funds to cover travel expenses for educators employed by a school system or to active ag literacy volunteers to attend the 2025 National Ag in the Classroom Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 23-26, 2025.

The scholarships are for full-time educators and volunteers who actively participate in classroom agricultural literacy programs or events.

“The National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference is filled with hands-on learning opportunities to help students understand how agriculture contributes to the production of food, fiber, shelter and renewable fuels,” Jordan Bartels, Texas Farm Bureau associate director of Organization Division, Educational Outreach, said. “Teachers and ag literacy volunteers who attend are sure to leave with new ideas and industry connections.”

Applicants must demonstrate through past programs an ability to create innovative outreach programs to teach students about food, fiber and fuel.

Applicants must also explain how information learned at the National Ag in the Classroom Conference will be used and why agricultural literacy is an important part of formal classroom learning.

“The scholarship gives teachers and ag literacy volunteers an opportunity to receive funding assistance to attend the conference without finances standing in their way,” Bartels said.

Applications must be submitted by Dec. 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Recommendations by state Farm Bureaus and school administrators are required and are due Dec. 16. The Foundation will submit applications to Farm Bureaus and administrators for recommendations.

Recipients will be announced by early January.

Recipients will receive reimbursement of $1,200 in expenses, plus registration costs.
