National Agriculture Day is Wednesday, March 18. The day recognizes and celebrates the abundance provided by agriculture.
Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across America join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture, according to the Agriculture Council of America (ACA).
ACA is composed of leaders in the agriculture, food and fiber communities dedicated to increasing the public awareness of agriculture’s vital role in our society. The ACA and the National Ag Day program were started in 1973.
The National Ag Day program encourages every American to understand how food and fiber products are produced; appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products; value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy; and acknowledge and consider career opportunities in the agriculture, food and fiber industry.
