In support of the Beef Checkoff’s funded Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., (BIVI) will pay the $25-$50 certification fee for online BQA certifications or recertification for beef cattle and dairy farmers who sign up between Sept. 1-Oct. 31.

The BQA program gives producers a set of best practices for producing a safe and high quality beef product. This offering is also beneficial for dairy producers as a large percentage of dairy calves and market cows make their way into the food chain, according to MyBeefCheckoff.

BQA certification modules are customized to fit the specific needs of each segment of the cattle industry—cow-calf, stocker, feedyard and dairy—and covers proper handling and administration of vaccinations, eliminating injection site blemishes and better cattle-handling principles.
