Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) awarded $20,000 in grants to help 4-H programs engage students and communities in activities to increase agricultural literacy and awareness.
Eighteen county, district and state 4-H programs received funds through the 2023 Clover Cash Grant Program.
“Farm Bureau launched this grant program to help 4-H members create or strengthen engaging programming that helps students and community members learn more about agriculture,” McKenna Bush, TFB Youth Outreach coordinator, said.
The grant program, now in its fourth year, was established to fund hands-on activities that grow students’ knowledge of food, fiber and fuel. Programs funded by Clover Cash grants also strive to help students understand the importance of agricultural advocacy.
“4-H activities are a great opportunity for students of all ages, along with members of the community, to connect and engage with agriculture,” Bush said. “The projects that received funds will foster an environment of growth and learning to help expand students’ knowledge of Texas agriculture and agricultural advocacy.”
