Beef Loving Texans, the Texas Beef Council’s (TBC) consumer-facing brand, is wrapping up its statewide search for the “Ultimate Beef Loving Texan.”

Two finalists will compete for the crown on three video episodes seen exclusively on BeefLovingTexans.com and YouTube. The winner will hold the title for one year.

Beef Loving Texans launched the contest to inspire millions of Texans to try new recipes featuring delicious, nutritious beef.

“Culinary influencers have a unique following of consumers who enjoy their creativity and passion for food,” said Rachel Chou, TBC’s director of Consumer Marketing. “Their innovation is a key strategic pillar for TBC as we develop new ways to bring Texans to the table over a shared love of beef.”

The search for the Ultimate Beef Loving Texan began with six food influencers sharing their best beef recipes on social media and directing fans to vote for their favorites at BeefLovingTexans.com.

Houston-based food and lifestyle influencer, Danielle Dubois, and Lytle-based chef and teacher, Johnny Stewart, were named finalists after the public vote.

Dubois and Stewart then participated in three rounds of competition, cooking beef dishes for judges, which included BBQuest co-hosts Kelsey Pribilski and Jess Pryles along with Austin-based chef Miguel Vidal of Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ and Food Network host Ali Khan.

The video series aims to inspire viewers to recreate the finalists’ beef-centric dishes in their own homes, encouraging more beef purchases statewide. Beef lovers across Texas will witness the judging panel—experts in their own right—as they bring their discerning palates and strong appreciation for beef to the forefront.

“This showdown between Danielle and Johnny is more than a contest,” Chou said. “It’s a celebration of Texas cuisine and each contestant’s unique journey cooking with beef. It’s one more way TBC is helping bridge the gap between beef producers and consumers with fun, educational entertainment.”
