Moviegoers across the nation will soon be offered an intimate, first-hand glimpse into the lives of six young farmers and ranchers from across the U.S., including Texas.

Sixth generation cattle rancher Brad Bellah of Throckmorton is featured in Academy Award-winning filmmaker James Moll’s documentary, Farmland, which will debut in the Lone Star State May 1.

Bellah is featured alongside fourth generation poultry farmer Leighton Cooley of Georgia; fifth generation corn and soybean farmer David Loberg of Nebraska; Community Supported Agriculture vegetable farmer Margaret Schlass of Pennsylvania; fourth generation onion, potato and melon farmer Sutton Morgan of California; and fourth generation hog farmer Ryan Veldhuizen of Minnesota.

Moll’s documentary chronicles the high-risk/high-reward jobs done by these six farmers and ranchers and their passion for a way of life that has been passed down from generation to generation, yet continues to evolve.

The film will debut in Houston, Austin and Graham on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. The screening in Houston will take place at the Edwards Greenway Grand Palace Stadium 14. The Austin event will be held at the Regal Metropolitan Stadium 14 and the Graham event will be held at the National Theatre. A screening in Dallas will follow later that month; however, details have not yet been finalized for that screening.

Farmland was produced by Moll’s Allentown Productions, with generous support from the U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance® (USFRA®). The film’s trailer can be seen online at www.farmlandfilm.com.
