More American farmers and ranchers are taking advantage of the opportunities the World Wide Web has to offer.

A new report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (USDA-NASS) reveals that 70 percent of farms and ranches now have access to the internet. That’s up 3 percent from 2013.

The survey specifies that wireless and satellite connections are growing significantly faster than DSL connections.

Farmers and ranchers aren’t just surfing the web and checking Facebook.

Almost half, 43 percent, of all farmers nationwide now use computers for their business.

In southern states, that percentage drops to about 36 percent of farmers and ranchers.
