The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) is hosting County Leader Week April 26-May 1.
County Leader Week provides an opportunity for Farm Bureau’s grassroots leaders to strengthen the organization by investing in leadership development, as well as celebrating the volunteer efforts that drives Farm Bureau.
Each day, participants will focus on a topic designed to help them grow as county leaders in coordination with the programming hosted on Farm Bureau University Board Essentials.
“Farm Bureau leaders are also community leaders, and they are often stretched thin with many obligations and responsibilities,” Charles Benton, Texas Farm Bureau director of Field Operations, said. “County Leader Week is a great way to enhance leadership skills in small segments. It’s an opportunity for members to grow as a Farm Bureau leader and also apply the information to other community activities.”
County Leader Week is full of online engagement and will cover a variety of topics.
The online training sessions will focus on being a board member, governance, planning, advocacy and policy development, and the membership cycle.
“It’s important to invest in your own development—whether you are a new county Farm Bureau board member or have served for several years. County Leader Week gives you that opportunity, and you’re able to take advantage of the online trainings at a time that’s convenient for you,” Benton said.
Learning is made easy and accessible via the short videos and resources that will be released daily by AFBF.
To participate, register for Farm Bureau University. The registration is free. Any member can sign up at https://university.fb.org/. New users need to register for an account using the member code for Texas, which is “txfb.”
