The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host two-day schools this spring for adult children and grandchildren of landowners who want to get involved in the family ranch and tackle how to be profitable, according to AgriLife Today.
Generation Next: Our Turn to Ranch School will be held at three locations:
• San Angelo on Mar. 5-6
• Stephenville on Mar. 12-13
• Corpus Christi on Apr. 9-10
“The schools are for anybody interested in starting an agricultural business,” said Dr. Megan Clayton, AgriLife Extension range management specialist, “but we especially want to provide this opportunity for children and grandchildren of landowners. Staying connected to the family ranch is difficult, especially when there’s not an obvious way to make a profit. So this school helps heirs explore profitable enterprises to supplement existing ranching operations.”
Registration will be limited to the first 50 participants. The fee is $100 per school if you register two weeks prior to the school and $175 thereafter. There is a reduced fee of $75 for college students. Call 979-845-2604 or click here to register.
