Texas A&M University’s Agricultural and Food Policy Center (AFPC) released a podcast to aid farmers with approaching Farm Bill deadlines and considerations, hosted by Dr. Joe Outlaw, agricultural policy specialist.
Outlaw stresses the importance of updating yield projections and the use of the 2014 Farm Bill Decision Aid Tool, an online educational tool that assists crop producers and landowners with sign-up decisions for the new farm programs.
Deadlines include:
• Feb. 27: base acreage reallocation or to update yield histories
• Mar. 31: sign-up for Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) or Price Loss Coverage (PLC)
