Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is offering two private pesticide applicator trainings on Dec. 4 and Dec. 9 in Overton. Participants can earn five continuing education units by attending the training on either day, or ten total if they attend both days, reports AgriLife Today.
Training on Dec. 4 will include weed control in pastures and hay meadows, regulation governing pesticide treatment on aquatic environments, beef cattle external parasite control, adjusting stocking rates to reduce weeds and feral hog control.
The Dec. 9 training presentations will include an update on Texas Department of Agriculture laws and regulations governing weed and pest control, integrated pest management, insect and disease issues and management for urban and suburban trees, turfgrass diseases and pests and turfgrass weed control.
Trainings begin with registration each day at 7:30 a.m. and run through 3 p.m. Registration for either day is $30 per person and will include lunch. Contact Pam Hickman at 903-834-6191 for additional information.
