Private water well management training is slated for Aug. 7 in Yoakum.
The free Texas Well Owner Network (TWON) training is available for anyone interested in private water well management within the Lavaca or Guadalupe River watersheds, according to AgriLife Today.
Many Texas residents depend on household wells for water needs. The training will help owners learn about improving and protecting their community water resources, become familiar with Texas groundwater resources, maintenance of septic systems, well management and construction and water quality and treatment. The training is one of 30 being conducted statewide by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
Well water samples are not required for the training, but can be submitted for screening of nitrates, total dissolved solids and bacteria. The cost is $12 per sample and payment is due at the time samples are submitted.
Please register as soon as possible at http://twon.tamu.edu/training or by calling 979-845-1461 for the training, as space is limited.
