Nearly one month into the new year, and the Lone Star State remains drought-free. And the U.S. Drought Outlooks projects no drought development in Texas at least through April, according to the Texas Water Development Board’s Water Weekly report.
The U.S. Drought Monitor has shown no change over the past two weeks. But abnormally dry conditions in Big Bend, the border between Pecos and Terrell counties and a smidge of southern Starr County remain.
Compared to three months ago, 50 percent of Texas was suffering from drought conditions.
