The deadline for high school juniors and seniors to sign up to attend the annual Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Youth Leadership Conference (YLC) is May 1.
YLC will be held June 15-19 at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.
Attendees will gain a better understanding of the various forms of government and their responsibilities as citizens. Comparisons of the different kinds of economic systems are outlined.
Students are selected by county Farm Bureaus. Transportation, rooms, meals and a small tuition fee are financed by the sponsoring county Farm Bureaus. YLC attendance is the first step for students to participate in the Free Enterprise Speech Contest, in which scholarships are awarded.
