Aquaculturists serious about using the Internet and social media as an inexpensive way to bolster business should mark their calendars for the Dec. 11 workshop, “Using the Internet to Grow Aquaculture Sales,” said the workshop’s coordinator.

The workshop is being conducted by the National Aquaculture Association and hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service from noon-5 p.m. in Room 302 of Nagle Hall, located on the Texas A&M University campus at College Station.

“Many aquaculture producers are hesitant to use electronic media,” said Dr. Todd Sink, AgriLife Extension fisheries specialist at College Station and the workshop’s coordinator. “So this workshop is meant to provide aquaculture producers and support industries with the knowledge and skills to use electronic media to showcase their products more successfully, grow their businesses and help shape the public perception of aquaculture.”

Space is limited to 22 registrants, so prospective participants should register soon, said Sink.

Registration forms for the free workshop are available at http://fisheries.tamu.edu/events/ and due by Dec. 1. The completed forms should be emailed to Sink at Todd-Sink@tamu.edu.
