The registration deadline is nearing for a Lone Star Healthy Streams workshop slated for March 24 in Gatesville. Farmers, ranchers and landowners are invited to attend the free event to learn more about protecting Texas waterways.
Presentations will center on issues within the Leon Watershed River, according to AgriLife Today. Watershed function, water quality and specific best management practices to minimize bacterial contamination from cattle, horses and feral hogs will be discussed. A feral hog trapping demonstration also is included.
Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education credits will be available for certified pesticide applicators.
