New cotton and soybean seeds that were designed to work with Monsanto Co.’s new herbicide formula were approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Thursday.
The seeds are designed to withstand sprays used to kill weeds, repel pests and increase yields for farmers.
According to the Associated Press, the herbicide formula the seeds were designed to withstand is still awaiting approval by the Environmental Protection Agency.
