Drought conditions, although much improved from last year, are still a concern for the Lone Star State.
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) recently released the drought report, showing 43 percent of the state is in moderate to exceptional drought. Drought conditions are relatively unchanged from last week, but are a significant improvement from 68 percent this time last year.
Recent rainfall also gave a slight rise in reservoir storage in North Central and East Texas, according to TWDB.
The summer rainfall outlook for Texas, made using January observations, shows a probability for a wetter-than-average summer across most of the state.
