Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) is partnering with the State Fair of Texas and the Heart O’ Texas Livestock Show as a sponsor of The United, a unique, one-year youth livestock show in Waco, Sept. 30 – Oct. 8.

TFB is participating as a sponsor of The United as part of its long-time support of Texas youth and its strong relationship with both organizations.

“Everyone is doing their best to deal with the pandemic’s impacts and disruptions on livestock shows and events that are important to Texas youth. It’s the times we live in right now,” TFB Executive Director/COO Si Cook said. “The United is an historic event, in that two popular youth livestock shows are working together to provide this opportunity. We’re proud to partner in this effort.”

The United is expected to draw youth livestock exhibitors from nearly every county in the state. The United will include youth breeding heifers, youth prospect steers and youth purebred breeding gilts.

TFB has enjoyed a presence at the State Fair of Texas and at the Heart O’ Texas Fair and Rodeo for many years as a popular exhibitor.

“Because of the pandemic, the two fairs were cancelled, and we weren’t able to utilize our Doorways to Agriculture exhibit to engage the public,” TFB Organization Director Whit Weems said. “Our sponsorship of The United represents an opportunity for us to redirect those resources that we usually invest at both shows in urban outreach.”
