Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) opened its new Austin Legislative office today, signaling a new era for the organization and its advocacy efforts in the Texas capital.

The office, located at 600 W. 12th Street, is three blocks west of the Capitol. The two-story building is owned by TFB. This marks the first time the organization has owned its Austin Legislative office.

The grand opening of the office was attended by TFB officers and state directors, three state representatives, a Texas Water Development Board Commissioner, TFB staff and other guests and friends of the organization.

“When we first saw this building, it looked nothing like this. In true farmer and rancher spirit, we looked at this opportunity, and we crunched the numbers. Ten years paying the same money as we were paying previously in rent, we own this building,” said TFB President Russell Boening prior to cutting the grand opening ribbon.

Boening thanked TFB leadership and staff for the efforts in completing the remodel construction of the building, which was previously occupied by a law firm.
