Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) President Russell Boening discussed recent Executive Orders on climate and other policy priorities and appointments of the Biden administration that will directly impact Texas agriculture as part of a special statewide media tour on Feb. 4.

Boening participated in the interviews with reporters from seven television and radio outlets from his farm in Wilson County via Zoom or Skype.
Reporters and broadcast outlets participating in the media tour were Joey Horta of KXXV-TV (Waco), Mike Board of WOAI-AM (San Antonio), Wes Rapaport of KXAN-TV (Austin and Nexstar Media Group), Corey Olson of KTRH-AM (Houston), Brian Scott of Spectrum News 1 (Dallas/Ft. Worth), Carey Martin of the Texas Farm Bureau Radio Network (Waco) and Karina Kling of Spectrum News Capital Tonight (Austin and San Antonio).

“The virtual statewide media tour allows us to us to talk about agriculture and let the general public know what’s going on out here on the farm and ranch,” Boening said. “We had some really good visits today with several different radio and television stations across the state. They are interested in these issues and our perspective. We talked about things that are going on or coming down the pike from Washington, D.C.”

Each reporter reserved a 30-minute time slot to ask Boening questions. It was the second electronic statewide media tour in nine months hosted by TFB.

Enhanced audio and video were provided to stations to ensure the quality of sound and images was suitable for broadcast. TFB Video Services Manager Ed Wolff and TFB Video Production Specialist Pedro Rosas managed on-site Zoom, Skype and audio/visual logistics in Wilson County.
