Texans are paying a little bit more at the grocery store this quarter. According to Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) latest Grocery Price Watch survey, food items like pork, beef and turkey are costing consumers more. This rise can be attributed to the ongoing drought, a virus American hog farmers are battling and simple supply and demand.

Global demand for milk has also prompted an uptick in the price of dairy products in the U.S.

Of the 16 items surveyed for the price watch, six saw a decrease in price this quarter. They include: tomatoes, white bread, corn flakes, long grain rice, vanilla cake mix and vanilla ice cream.
