In an effort to be prepared for a potential animal disease outbreak, the Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) is visiting major stock shows and rodeos to discuss proper biosecurity practices, which are critical to keeping Texas’ animals disease free and marketable.
The agency recommends guidelines and precautions for event organizers, visitors and animal owners. From consulting your local veterinarian to cleaning tack, boots and grooming supplies before leaving the grounds, TAHC suggests practices to help reduce the risk of transporting an infectious agent.
