Margins are tight, and farmers are looking to cut costs. Will that affect crop insurance choices?

A recent Farm Journal Pulse poll surveyed more than 1,400 farmers to determine how they will handle crop insurance this year.

The majority, 63 percent, does not anticipate significant changes this year, according to AgWeb.

The remainder of those polled was split in their response. Twelve percent of farmers said they will raise coverage to protect against more risk, while another 12 percent said they will lower coverage to reduce premium costs. The remaining 13 percent said they do not carry crop insurance.
