By an overwhelming 96.5 percent, sorghum farmers voted to continue the Sorghum Checkoff.
The referendum was held March 23 through April 21. Farmers from 18 states participated, with 1,160 votes in favor and 42 votes against the continuation of the sorghum checkoff.
Sorghum Checkoff Chairman and Texas Farm Bureau State Director Dale Murden said these results indicate sorghum farmers support the work of the checkoff and signals it is providing results and advancing the sorghum industry in a way that leads to farmer profitability.
