Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) members can learn about all things beef-related at the 70th Annual Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course and save on the registration fee using their TFB member benefits.
The short course, which is set for Aug. 5-7 in College Station, is the largest beef cattle educational event in the U.S.
“This is a great educational opportunity for ranchers regardless of experience or ranch size,” Tracy Tomascik, TFB associate director of Commodity and Regulatory Activities, said. “The TFB member benefit is an added bonus to save on the information they will learn.”
TFB members first received the discounted registration price in 2021.
“We hope Farm Bureau members will continue taking advantage of the registration savings, educational material and networking opportunities available through the short course,” Tomascik said.
The three-day event will include over 20 sessions covering animal health, reproduction, forage, nutrition and handling techniques. Additional sessions will cover business management, marketing and landowner issues.
A trade show featuring more than 150 agricultural-related businesses and exhibitors, as well as the traditional prime rib dinner, also will be part of the short course.
Over 1,700 ranchers and beef industry representatives are expected to be in attendance, but a virtual option also will be available.
“We are once again excited that TFB is a proud partner of the Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course and is offering its members a discounted registration,” said Dr. Jason Cleere, conference coordinator and AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist. “This is a great opportunity for ranchers to gain some beef production knowledge and also network with fellow ranchers from across Texas and the U.S.”

The fee is $300 for those attending in person and $160 for the virtual option. The prices will increase to $340 after July 27.
TFB members will receive $20 off the in-person registration fee only.
The discount is applied at registration when you use the code TXFB.
