Rio Grande Valley cotton and grain farmers will gather for the 20th Annual RGV Cotton & Grain Pre-Plant Conference to discuss the latest technology, products and strategies as they prepare for this year’s planting season.

The conference, hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, is set for Jan. 16 in Weslaco. Information designed to help South Texas farmers utilize more efficient technology and production methods will be presented, according to the Southwest Farm Press.

Speakers will address the progress and remaining challenges of the RGV Boll Weevil Eradication Program, best cotton varieties for the area, market outlook for grains in 2014 and the ongoing soil testing campaign.
