The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the Baylor County Range Management Workshop May 1 in Seymour, according to AgriLife Today.

“The program is designed to help producers make decisions on the control of mesquite and prickly pear to improve rangelands,” said Martin Shaw, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent.

Workshop topics include managing mesquite, chemical control methods and benefits of fixed-wire fence versus traditional fencing. Participants also will view mesquite viewing plots and a fencing demonstration.

The $10 registration fee is payable at the time of the workshop, but pre-registration is requested by April 30 by calling Shaw at 940-889-5581.
