The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service (AgriLife) will host a Pre-Plant/Weed Management Producer Update Meeting from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 11 in Canyon, according to AgriLife Today.

“We wanted to help producers establish not only a good pre-planting plan, but also develop strategies for addressing severe weed control issues for both pre- and post-planting this crop season,” said Dr. J.D. Ragland, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent.

Program topics are sorghum silage variety trial and yield quality; sugarcane aphid update; corn and sorghum weed control strategies; and research results from the 2014 crop season. A viewing of new North Region weed management video series will also be available.

The fee at the door is $10, which includes lunch. RSVP is requested by noon, Feb. 10. For more information or to RSVP, contact Ragland at 806-468-5543 or r-ragland@tamu.edu.
