To provide farmers with helpful information for critical preplanting decisions, a workshop will be held Feb. 26 in Canyon. Speakers will focus on a variety of issues during the Producers Preplant Decisions Workshop.

Workshop topics will include estimating soil fertility requirements for corn and sorghum, irrigated cotton production decisions, sorghum varieties for dryland and irrigated, suggested seeding rates at planting and top dressing wheat.

The program will offer three Texas Department of Agriculture general continuing education units for private applicators, according to AgriLife Today.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the program at 9 a.m.

Those planning to attend should preregister before noon Feb. 25 by calling the Randall County AgriLife Extension office at (806) 468-5543. The workshop fee is $10, which is payable at the door.
