Pecan enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the Central Texas Pecan Field Day set for April 19 in Georgetown.

The day-long program will include speakers, a grafting workshop and vendors.

Managing pests in an economically and environmentally friendly manner and horticultural marketing will be covered. Orchard management issues, including varieties, water quality, irrigation and fertilization, also will be discussed. A grafting workshop will conclude the day’s activities.

Two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units—one integrated pest management and one general—will be available for licensed pesticide applicators.

Registration, which is $20 per person, must be completed by April 16. To RSVP, call (512) 943-3300 or email fmhall@ag.tamu.edu.
