Texas cotton farmers now have an additional tool in the fight against root rot.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension service has created a smartphone app called “Cotton Root Rot Return to Treatment Calculator” that is designed to help farmers decide if they need to treat their land for cotton root rot.
The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android device users. There’s also a version of the decision aid available online at http://bit.ly/1h7WheB.
The app and spreadsheet are free to download and use, according to Southwest Farm Press.
