The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas Agricultural Irrigation Association will host the annual High Plains Irrigation Conference Jan. 16 in Amarillo. A concurrent trade show also will provide opportunities for attendees to view new products and technologies, as well as visit with industry and agency professionals.

The program, according to AgriLife Today, will address a variety of topics of interest to farmers and ranchers and the general public.

Conference topics will focus on regional water issues, rural water conservation, crop insurance, risk management tools for limited irrigation and irrigation best management practices. An applied research panel focusing on irrigation management strategies for High Plains’ crops also is on the agenda.

Registration will be onsite only, and the fee is $30. Continuing education units will be available.
