To further fight the spread of Huanglongbing (HLB), or citrus greening disease, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has expanded its existing quarantine zone in Texas to include two more counties.
Following positive detections in plant tissue samples collected from citrus nurseries, the latest quarantine zones were imposed on Fort Bend and Montgomery counties, according to Southwest Farm Press.
The five counties fully quarantined for HLB in Texas are Cameron, Fort Bend, Harris, Hidalgo and Montgomery.
