Jeep Bryant, a fourth grader in Nacogdoches County, knows every chicken in his flock. Their names are as unique as his own, reports KLTV.
Bryant gets up with the chickens to care, feed and water them. His number one rule: his chickens must all be friendly.
“Never let a rooster overpower you,” he said.
His teacher told him to write about what he knows, so Bryant has a book about his chickens. He also writes poems.
The 10-year-old’s hobby is now the subject of a popular Facebook page, Jeep’s Friendly Farm.
Bryant is sharing with readers how to take care of backyard flocks and how he has used repurposed materials, such as toilet bowls, in his coop.
Bryant’s favorite hen is Runt because she lies on her back to be petted until she falls asleep.
