Learn how to improve soil health and no-till practices at a Rolling Plains field tour to be held Aug. 14. Field stops at the Practices to Improve Soil Health and Soil/Water Conservation tour will be in Archer, Baylor, Wichita and Wilbarger counties.

The day’s discussion will be led by DeLaune and Ray Archuleta, USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service soil health specialist/agronomist at the East National Technology Center in Greensboro, N.C., according to AgriLife Today.

Each stop will include fields with cover crops ranging from already terminated to recently planted, plus attendees will have the opportunity to visit with experienced to beginner no-till farmers.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the tour will run from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Admission is free, and lunch and transportation will be provided. RSVPs are required by Aug. 6 to Sloane Montano at Sloane.Montano@ag.tamu.edu or 940-552-9941, extension 206.
