Farmers Feeding Families

Hunger impacts individuals and families across the state, but farmers and ranchers are stepping up to make a difference. Farmers Feeding Families is a program that empowers County Farm Bureaus to make a difference in the fight against hunger.

Through partnerships with food banks, shelters, and other community aid organizations, Farmers Feeding Families turns the generosity of farmers and ranchers into tangible support for individuals and families. The program focuses on local communities, ensuring that help goes directly where it’s needed most.

This initiative is coordinated by the Young Farmer & Rancher Advisory Committee.

How It Works

Farmers Feeding Families encourages County Farm Bureaus to:

  • Donate livestock: County Farm Bureaus can donate livestock (cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, poultry) to local organizations.
  • Volunteer time: Log volunteer hours spent helping with food collection, distribution, or preparation.
  • Make a monetary donation: Any financial contribution to local food distribution organizations is welcomed.
  • Donate food items: This includes canned goods, fresh vegetables, or other non-perishable items.
