Farmers and ranchers continue to eye the future of drone use, and an upcoming webinar hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service can help address questions and rules surrounding the popular technology.
The webinar, Drone Use on Ranches, will be held Oct. 3 from noon to 1 p.m.
It is part of the Texas Range Webinar series. This online series is free, except when Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units (CEUs) are offered.
Dr. Megan Clayton, AgriLife Extension range specialist in Corpus Christi, will be the presenter for the webinar.
“Drones have become popular for both recreational and commercial use, but how can you most effectively use them for your ranching operation?” Clayton said. “This webinar will cover different types of drones for sale, features to look for and new rules you must follow depending on your situation and purpose.”
The unmanned aerial vehicles are a useful tool for farmers and ranchers across the globe. They are used to map acreage, track crops and check on livestock.
According to DroneDeploy, a cloud-based platform for commercial drone use, agriculture is one of the top drone adoption leaders worldwide. And to meet the growing demands and usage, more companies are integrating drone technology and data into their systems.
