Dairy farmers are invited to attend Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s (AgriLife) meeting regarding 2014 Farm Bill’s dairy provisions. The educational meeting is free and will be held Sept. 12 in Muleshoe.
The program’s main speakers will be Dr. Joe Outlaw, co-director of The Agricultural and Food Policy Center at Texas A&M University, College Station, and Dr. Scott Brown from the University of Missouri. Both Outlaw and Brown helped analyzed dairy policy changes for the Agricultural Committees of Congress, according to AgriLife Today.
The speakers will discuss the Margin Protection Program, a new and unique safety net program for dairy producers. Brown will explain the TOPMargin Spreadsheet tool he developed to help dairy producers work through the decision-making process associated with the Margin Protection Program.
