Farmers can begin selecting coverage through the 2014 Farm Bill established programs, Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC), on Nov. 17. Sign-up will continue through March 31, 2015, according to the Farm Service Agency.

To assist farmers in the decision process, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) created online tools that allow farmers to enter individual farm information.

Canola, barley, large and small chickpeas, corn, crambe, flaxseed, grain sorghum, lentils, mustard seed, oats, peanuts, dry peas, rapeseed, long grain rice, medium grain rice, safflower seed, sesame, soybeans, sunflower seed and wheat are covered commodities.

Farmers may also update yield history and/or reallocate base acres now through Feb. 27, 2015.
