The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) announced the upcoming retirement of current Executive Vice President and CEO Eldon White. Succeeding White will be TSCRA Executive Director of Government and Public Affairs Jason Skaggs.
White announced his retirement during the 2018 Cattle Raisers Convention and Expo last month and will step aside as CEO on Sept. 1. White has been CEO and executive vice president for 11 years.
In a statement issued by the association, President Bobby McKnight commended White for his many accomplishments and leadership.
“Eldon’s leadership has brought about very positive changes to TSCRA, and his expertise has been beneficial for cattle raisers not just in Texas, but across the entire country,” McKnight said.
Skaggs, who was tapped to serve as the association’s next executive vice president and CEO, has headed the TSCRA Government and Public Affairs office in Austin for a decade. McKnight said Skaggs was “absolutely the right choice for the job.”
“We’ve always enjoyed working with Eldon,” Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening said. “He was a great leader at TSCRA and worked many years with Texas Farm Bureau on issues that affected our Texas cattle ranchers. We wish him the best in retirement, and we also look forward to our continued good relationship and working with Jason in the future.”
