Texas Farm Bureau will once again make funds available to county Farm Bureaus though the Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) Matching Grant Program. Counties can apply for partial reimbursement of up to $250 for activities that promote agricultural literacy and Agriculture in the Classroom.

Any county Farm Bureau which conducts or has conducted an AITC activity during Aug. 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017 may apply for partial reimbursement of expenses incurred as a result of that activity.

If your county is selected, a 50 percent reimbursement up to $250 will be awarded based on the total amount of money spent by the county.

In order to be reimbursed, counties must submit a completed application showing how the money was used; cost of the activity with supportive receipts attached; schools involved; number of students and/or teachers that benefited; and the activity to be considered.

Deadline for submission of 2016-2017 matching grant applications is Sept. 15. Grants will be awarded beginning Oct. 1.

Applications can be picked up from the county office. Return the forms and supporting documents to the attention of Jett Mason, Organization Division.
