There’s good news for Texas. The state remains drought-free for the fourth week in a row and is expected to remain so through late September.

According to the Texas Water Development Board’s Water Weekly, Far West Texas near El Paso remains dry, but isn’t experiencing drought conditions.

Reservoir storage in the state is below normal in the Trans Pecos, Edwards Plateau and south.

While Texas is expected to remain in good condition moisture-wise for the next few months, other states are not as lucky. Drought is expected to persist or intensify in California, Western Nevada, North Georgia, Alabama and parts of Tennessee.

Drought conditions are predicted to develop in Oregon and Washington state.
