The Permian Basin Oil and Gas Stewardship Conference, hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, will take place in Andrews Aug. 7.

Topics will include wind and solar energies, brackish water and desalinization property rights updates. State Rep. Brooks Landgraf and U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway are scheduled to present.

“With the drop in the price of oil, many landowners in the Basin are considering their options with utilizing solar and wind energy production on their properties,” said Amanda Necessary, AgriLife Extension agent in Andrews County. “The conference agenda will give landowners the latest information on both industries and what they need to know before they decide to sign a lease.”

Individual registration is $30. Those interested in attending must RSVP to the Extension office in Andrews County by July 24. For more information or to RSVP contact Necessary at amanda.necessary@ag.tamu.edu or 432-524-1421.
