Students in their sophomore or junior year can sign up to participate in the 2024 Engage program offered through Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) Student Success Series.

The in-person events will take place in each TFB district.

High school sophomores and juniors will engage with community leaders in agriculture and western industries. They will gain insight into the free enterprise system and how it impacts business and consumer structures in the U.S. and abroad. Students will also develop a personal brand and learn how to have an engaging presence on social media and digital environments.

“Engage events offer students an opportunity to network with peers across their Farm Bureau district and gain knowledge that will be helpful as they continue their high school and post-secondary journey,” McKenna Bush, TFB Youth Outreach coordinator, said.

Through the Engage program, students will learn from county leaders, Young Farmer & Rancher Advisory Committee members, TFB field representatives and TFB state directors on how they can make an impact in their schools and communities.

“Hearing these individuals share their experiences and involvement in Farm Bureau encourages students to take advantage of opportunities available to them now and in the future as young leaders,” Bush said.

Students will have the opportunity to tour a local agricultural operation as part of the event.

“These tours allow the students to see an agricultural business, farm or ranch in their area and connect with local producers,” Bush said.

Registration is underway for the free 2024 Engage events. Registration closes two weeks prior to each event.

The district events will be hosted in April and May.

Information on dates and locations, as well as the registration link, are available on the Student Success Series webpage at texasfarmbureau.org/student-success-series.

Participants will receive a t-shirt and other TFB-branded items.

Additional Student Success Series programs
Jumpstart, Activate and Thrive are additional Student Success Series programs available for students in eighth, ninth and twelfth grade.

“There is something for everyone to take away from the Student Success Series. Whether it’s culinary arts, robotics, band, sports, 4-H, FFA or FCCLA, the Student Success Series is an opportunity for students to learn more about their community, agriculture and to develop critical professional skills,” Bush said.

Details and registration for Jumpstart, Activate and Thrive will be made available on texasfarmbureau.org/student-success-series.
