Extra emphasis is being placed on farm safety this week, Sept. 18-22, during National Farm Safety and Health Week.

This year’s theme is “No One Can Take Your Place.”

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, agriculture is one of the most dangerous jobs in America.

The National Farm Safety and Health Week programs aim to keep those in agriculture safe and healthy by helping them recognize common dangers to physical and mental health.

Two webinars will be will be streamed daily from Sept. 18 through Sept. 22. To register for the webinars, click here.

Monday, Sept. 18

  • 11 a.m. CDT – ATV/UTV Safety
  • 1 p.m. CDT – Chainsaw Safety Training

Tuesday, Sept. 19

  • 11 a.m. CDT – Preventing the Spread of Infectious Disease on Farms, Ranches and Ag Workplaces
  • 1 p.m. CDT – Emerging, Re-emerging and Long-standing Infectious Disease in Agricultural Workers and Cost-Effective Measures for Prevention

Wednesday, Sept. 20

  • 11 a.m. CDT – Cardiovascular Health in Farm Workers with a Concentration on Females
  • 1 p.m. CDT – Strategies to Increase Access to Mental Health Services in Farmworker Communities in Post-COVID Era

Thursday, Sept. 21

  • 11 a.m. CDT – Confined Spaces on Dairy Farms
  • 1 p.m. CDT – Saving Lives in Grain: Research and Strategies for Grain Entrapment Prevention and Response

Friday, Sept. 22

  • 11 a.m. CDT – Conversations on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) Training
  • 1 p.m. CDT – Protecting Your Brain from Stress

Simultaneous interpretation in Spanish will be available for all 10 webinars.

Participants who attend three or more of the webinars will earn a digital badge recognizing their status as a National Farm Safety and Health Week 2023 Champion.
