Both Democrats and Republicans have joined together against the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) and Army Corps of Engineers’ proposed rule to expand federal jurisdiction under the Clean Water Act (CWA).

A total of 219 members of Congress sent a joint letter to the agencies asking them to withdraw the proposed “Waters of the U.S.” rule. Led by Reps. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.) and Kurt Schrader (D-Ore.), the letter puts the House on record as opposing the agencies’ jurisdictional overreach, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF).
