Texans with an interest in deer and deer management are encouraged to attend a two-day workshop hosted by the Texas Deer Study Group. The event is set for April 10-11 in Columbus.

Speakers will address the unique challenges of deer management. Harvest strategies, deer management in farmland habitat, white-tailed deer breeding chronology and an overview of deer nutrition are a few of the topics featured in the April 10 program. The group will meet at a local ranch on April 11 for presentations covering habitat management techniques and native and introduced vegetation, according to AgriLife Today.

The workshop is hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas Wildlife Association, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.
