U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is launching a new website—a one-stop shop of resources, programs and support for new-to-farming farmers.

On www.usda.gov/newfarmers, new farmers can find information about accessing land and capital, managing risk, finding education, outreach and technical assistance, growing businesses and markets, and investing in the land and environment, according to the USDA.

The 2012 Agricultural Census found an 11.3 percent increase in young beginner farmers and more women and minorities entering agriculture. The USDA wants to ensure that beginner farmers and ranchers—women, young people, immigrants, socially disadvantaged producers, returning veterans and retirees—have access to the programs and support to succeed.

These farmers of tomorrow will grow the food, fiber, flora and fuel and the new website will give them the tools to thrive and flourish.
